BC Hydro Social Housing Energy Savings Program (SHESP)

FRESCo is an approved consultant for the BC Hydro Social Housing Energy Savings Program (SHESP), which helps non-profit, co-operative and Indigenous housing providers in reducing natural gas and electricity consumption in multi-unit residential buildings. It provides participants with expertise and financial support to implement energy conservation measures for common areas.  

The program provides: 

• Fully funded Opportunity Assessments to provide a review of major mechanical, electrical, and building envelope systems, assess energy use and identify cost-effective upgrades to improve performance and reduce operating costs.  

• Fully funded Feasibility Studies that develop a detailed business case for select upgrades, including thorough technical and financial analysis, costing from your preferred contractors, available rebates and incentives, and engineering design and specifications if applicable. 

FRESCo has supported numerous buildings in taking advantage of programs for social housing providers.

BC Housing ASHRAE level 2 audits

FRESCo conducted over a dozen ASHRAE level 2 audits for BC Housing. The energy audits describe the facilities and their energy use patterns, identify GHG emissions reductions and cost-effective retrofit options and discuss recommendations regarding all options analyzed and next steps.
